Simarpreet Singh joins Evidence for Democracy in the capacity of a Research Associate, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the non-profit sector. His academic background includes a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba, where he delved into reaction mechanisms of catalytic reactions and innovated novel catalytic methods. Prior to pursuing his graduate studies, Simarpreet worked as a research associate at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Passionate about representation and committed to various Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, Simarpreet has actively contributed to fostering inclusivity. He served as the co-president at the University of Manitoba Working for Inclusivity in Chemical Sciences and assumed the role of co-chair of the 2021 Leaders Overcoming Greater Inequalities in Chemistry conference.
Simarpreet is an enthusiastic advocate for enhancing education accessibility. He consistently engages with academic institutions and governmental bodies, advocating for increased funding in areas such as education, scientific research, and support for graduate student researchers.
