In this panel, experts gathered to discuss the ongoing data needs of Canada’s COVID-19 response. Panelists talked about ongoing work to collect, use and manage data around COVID-19, discussed current gaps and challenges, and explored critical next steps around data collection and sharing and how this can support a just response and recovery from COVID-19.

We were joined by a panel of experts from a variety of disciplines both focused on gathering and facilitating applications of data in relation to COVID-19. The panel included Jean-Noé Landry, Executive Director of Open North; Dr. Eric Kennedy, Assistant Professor of Emergency Management at York University; Dr. Ashleigh Tuite, Assistant Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Math Modelling at the University of Toronto; Hindia Mohamoud, Project Director at the Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership; and Samantha Burton, Senior Policy Advisor at the Canadian Digital Service.
