Meet Rumeet, E4D’s Communications Officer

We’re excited to introduce our communications officer for the summer!

I am excited to be joining the Evidence for Democracy team as a Communications Officer for the summer!

I am completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in forensics at Carleton University. I just recently completed my Honours research project which focused on justice-impacted parents and their children. This project provided me insight on the gap between research and policy decisions. Through my education on corrections and justice-impacted people, I learned that policy does not often reflect the research. This experience made me aware of the shift that needed to be made, not only in corrections and justice related policy, but much of the policy in Canada.

I became interested in communications while working as a digital marketing coordinator. What I love about communications is how broad it is, and all that it encompasses. Perfectly curating content, getting creative with the process, and increasing community engagement are what I enjoy! The digital space is a great way to engage with the community and find creative ideas to aide with various campaigns, and I am excited to use my background to help with science advocacy at E4D!
