A Researcher's Guide to Pre-Budget Submissions

The deadline to submit a pre-budget brief for Finance Committee consultations is August 4. Learn how you can participate in the pre-budget process.

Every year the government and parliamentary finance committee consult with Canadians on what should go into the next year's federal budget. You can have your say in Budget 2018 by submitting a formal brief to the Finance Committee by August 4, 2017. There will be another opportunity for submissions to the Ministry of Finance from September through December.  We recommend crafting a submission for both the Finance Committee and the Ministry of Finance.

These consultations are great opportunities to describe the positive economic impacts of fundamental research, and how this could be improved by implementing the Naylor Report.

Wondering how to write a brief for the Finance Committee? We've got you covered.
