Evidence Matters: Putting evidence at the heart of everyday life

Date: Monday October 23, 2023

Time: 7pm ET

Location: Ottawa Public Library – Sunnyside branch

From the words of politicians to product advertisements, “evidence” is commonly cited as a way to justify actions and to persuade. Similarly, we often rely on the evidence available to us to make decisions in our daily lives. But how do we know what evidence is reliable when there is so much misinformation out there, or where to look when no evidence is provided?

We’re partnering with the Ottawa Public Library for Library Month to talk all about why evidence matters! Join us in-person at the Sunnyside branch for a conversation on how to better understand and engage with evidence, and why it matters for a healthy democracy.

Can’t make it in-person? This event will also be live-streamed on OPL’s YouTube page here!
