Ottawa (August 8, 2019) - A coalition of Canadian science groups is launching a national non-partisan #VoteScience campaign to send the message that Canadians care about science and to help scientists and all Canadians engage with their local candidates to push for policies that support science and evidence-based decision-making.

A new report out today from Evidence for Democracy and the Canadian Climate Forum looks at the state of funding for climate science in Canada based on a survey of scientists in the field.

Ottawa (July 4, 2018) - New Ontario Premier Doug Ford dismissed Ontario’s Chief Scientist this week. The role of Ontario’s Chief Scientist was announced in June 2016 by the previous Ontario government, and Dr. Molly Shoichet was hired to fill the position in November 2017.

​June 28, 2018 - The British Columbia government today released an independent report on the current government practice of relying on professionals hired by the industry to manage the risk to public health and the environment as we develop our natural resources. The report follows an 8-month provincial review process to examine whether qualified professionals have the tools and structure to ensure both the protection of the public interest and the conservation of B.C.’s wildlife and wildlife habitat.
