E4D is looking for a volunteer graphic designer!

Evidence for Democracy is a national, non-partisan organization advocating for the use of evidence-based decision-making in public policy. E4D launches a number of education and advocacy campaigns, as well as supports those of partner organizations. Central to the success of our education and advocacy work is distributing clear, easy-to-understand and eye-catching visuals meant to share information quickly. We are currently looking for a dedicated volunteer to assist in the development of infographics, web graphics, and other materials for education and promotion. This requires intermediate webdesign skills using the program of the artist’s choice (ie: Illustrator, Inkscape, Easel.ly, Infogr.am, etc.)

Volunteer Position: Evidence for Democracy Graphic Designer

Central to the success of our education and advocacy work is distributing clear, easy-to-understand and eye-catching visuals meant to share information quickly. We are currently looking for a dedicated volunteer to assist in the development of infographics, web graphics, and other materials for education and promotion. This requires intermediate webdesign skills using the program of the artist’s choice (ie: Illustrator, Inkscape, Easel.ly, Infogr.am, etc.)

Specific tasks include:

• Website banner creation

• Creating simple image/text graphics to share on Facebook and other social media

• Designing infographics to communicate information in a simple and attractive fashion

• Assisting other webdesigners with their projects

Skills required:

• Experience with graphic design software of choice

• Experience with graphic design for social media

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Experience working with Google Docs and other forms of collaborative online working

• Strong organizational skills, with a high capacity for self-direction

• Flexibility and reactiveness to perform duties on short notice

Time commitment:

• 1-3 initial meetings (via Skype) with our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss role and expectations

• Approximately 1-2 hours a week, based on your schedule and timing of events/campaigns

• Ideally a 6-12 month commitment (negotiable)
