For a decade in Canada, we experienced drastic funding cuts to both federal government and academic research, the scrapping of many important evidence gathering institutions, and the muzzling of government scientists. While many of these decisions have been reversed, President Trump’s recent attacks on science in the US remind us that we can’t ever take our victories as guarantees for the future.

With scientists marching all over the world, we have an unprecedented opportunity to stand up for science and smart-decision making. We can keep building the momentum for science and evidence-based decision-making in Canada!
