March for Science

Summary

Because science is for everyone.

Thank you for signing-up! We’ll be in touch with further details about the Canadian March for Science.

In April 2018, communities from coast to coast will come together to celebrate science in Canada as part of the international “March for Science” movement that started in 2017 and led to the largest science advocacy event in history.

This year we will celebrate, encourage, and work towards science that is for everyone. Science isn’t just for scientists, it impacts all of us  – by protecting our health and our environment, and providing us with facts and evidence to hold our governments accountable.

Check out this list of Canadian events – be sure to attend in your community!

When scientists, whether at home or abroad, are silenced, we all suffer. When knowledge generation is underfunded or suppressed, our communities and democracies suffer.

We also recognize that the benefits of science, and the opportunities to do science, are not accessible to everyone. Scientists and scientific institutions need to do better to ensure the voices of marginalized groups are amplified, and that actionable steps are taken to increase diversity within the research community.

Join us this April as we come together in Canada, and around the world, to highlight the vital role science plays in our society and democracy, and to continue working to ensure it is well funded, openly communicated, and accessible to everyone.
